Blessing the New Entrance

Blessing the New Entrance

The inviting new entrance of St. Martin’s Home opened on Monday, September 17 with a ribbon cutting! Residents, Little Sisters and guests participated in a ceremony signifying completion of another portion of our Caring Today, Building Tomorrow campaign.

The Little Sisters first opened St. Martin’s Home on Valley Street in 1869 followed by a move to Catonsville in 1969. During the celebration on September 17, Fr. Stan deBoe blessed the cornerstone, originally blessed by Cardinal Shehan in 1967 when construction of St. Martin’s Home in Catonsville began.

Mother Provincial Loraine and Mother Joseph Caroline cut the ribbon – opening the entrance doors for the first time.

Residents and employees then crossed the threshold into the reception area which will welcome guests for years to come.

Thanks for making the Annual Nun Run a success!
