The Rockin’ for the Elderly committee (Liz Swann, Elizabeth Eisenacher, Joann Thiem, Barbara Susie, Kathleen Pence, Harry Wedding, Kim Wedding and Aster Evenson) made sure everyone had a wonderful time at our 7th annual event held June 15! Activities included face painting, children’s games, a bake sale, painted garden rocks sale and jewelry sale. Everyone enjoyed taking chances on 15 Raffle Baskets and participating in the Cake Walk to win over seventy donated cakes. A highlight of the day was the tasty luncheon served! The annual “duel” between the “plinko” game, run by Josh Thiem and daughter, Rachel, and the “wheel” game run by Kim and Harry Wedding was a close race this year. The “wheel” was the winner in 2013!
We had plenty of rocking chairs moving to the beat of DJ Dean and appreciated the support of our rockers – including youth groups, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and friends. Our Residents rocked and enjoyed the festivities along with volunteers and community supports. Sincere appreciation to our generous sponsors and our donors!
Proceeds for the event benefit the “Keeping Our Residents Connected” project – Upgrading TV and Closed Circuit Services at St. Martin’s Home.
