Inspired by his Eminence, William Cardinal Keeler, and the veneration he held for Saint John Paul II, Sister Lourdes Marie created a “John Paul II Exposition” honoring his canonization. The exposition was open for several days for our Residents and visitors and included photographs, statues, books and items commemorating John Paul II. Cardinal Keeler wanted to pay tribute to his friend and give our Residents an opportunity to reflect on the spiritual leader and his contributions. Known as the “Pope of the Family,” John Paul II served for nearly 27 years as Pope to the church.
The Little Sisters watched the canonization live at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, April 27. Later that morning, Cardinal Keeler personally distributed key rings given to him by Saint John Paul II to those attending Sunday Mass. A taped viewing of the canonizations of Saint John XXIII and Saint John Paul II was shown to our Residents in the afternoon.
