The halls of St. Martin’s Home have been ringing with music! Under the direction of Susan Thoren, Activities Assistant and Music Therapist, the St. Martin’s Handbell Choir has been revived! The group gave their inaugural performance at the recent visit of Mother General. The Residents learn basic music theory, such as rests and repeats, but no special musical talent is needed! The group of ten ringers meets every Monday at 10 a.m.
A new St. Martin’s Home Choir has recently started! Ten to 15 Residents, along with volunteers, have been participating and are anxiously awaiting their first performance. Their lovely voices blend beautifully and add to the peacefulness and joy found at our home. The choir meets on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and all are welcome!
Volunteers are invited to participate and help with practices and performances! Both musical groups will be performing on December 21 at 2 p.m. for the “Bells of Christmas” program in the auditorium.
