St. Joseph’s Day
The feast of St. Joseph is a very special day for the Little Sisters of the Poor around the world. And this year, from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021, Pope Francis proclaimed a “Year of St. Joseph” in his Apostolic Letter “Patris Corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”). This proclamation was met with joy by the Little Sisters as our Mother Foundress, St. Jeanne Jugan, turned to St. Joseph to obtain all she needed to care for the elderly poor. And to this day, the Sisters continue to confide their needs to him.
The Most Reverend Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., auxiliary bishop of Baltimore celebrated Mass for the Little Sisters and the Residents.
The Mass was so well received by all those in attendance and the hymns of “Holy Patron, Thee Saluting” and “Hail, Holy Joseph, Hail” filled the chapel marking the day as one of thankfulness, love, and joy.
