Second Grade Student channels her inner St. Jeanne Jugan
A few weeks ago, Cecelia came to visit Sister Lawrence Mary, l.s.p. at St. Martin’s Home. Cecelia is a 2nd grade student at Our Lady of Perpetual Help school in Ellicott City and is preparing to make her First Holy Communion. According to Cecelia’s mother, Ali, the preparation involved choosing a saint for the “Hall of Saints” project at the school and Cecilia chose St. Jeanne Jugan.
Never short on inspiration, Sister Lawrence asked Cecilia if she would like to borrow one of the St. Jeanne Jugan dolls currently gracing the Development Office. According to Ali, “They had to research and write an essay on the history of their saint. They then had to memorize the essay, dress up as the saint and present it to their parents and their peers in church. All the children did a wonderful job and make us all proud and grateful for a Catholic education.”
Cecilia made us very proud as well and we know St. Jeanne Jugan is proud of her too!
