The Activities Department hosted a fun-filled Mardi Gras celebration for the Residents of St. Martin’s Home. Our postulants helped decorate John Paul II cottage in greens, purples and gold in honor of the day.
Volunteers were on hand to help Residents create miniature floats – representative of the floats seen in Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans. Our Activities Assistant, Sara, created a trivia game tracing the history of the Mardi Gras, and an inflatable Court Jester originally from our Home in New Orleans added to the fun! Instead of searching for the baby Jesus placed in the traditional King Cake dessert, Residents only had to look under their dessert plate to find a sticker of the baby to win a prize!
