Holiday activities and visitors filled St. Martin’s Home throughout the month of December! The many festivities and beautiful decorations put everyone in the holiday spirit while the numerous nativity sets reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. Under the direction of Stephanie Yoo, Music Therapist / Activities Assistant, the bell choir and thespian Residents performed “A Certain Small Shepherd.” An afternoon of “Gift Giving” – gifts individually chosen and wrapped by the Little Sisters – was a highlight for the Residents!
The staff enjoyed a holiday luncheon prepared by our talented kitchen crew during which the retirement of two long time employees was announced. Joyce Smarr, Residents’ Needs Coordinator (employed by Little Sisters for 39 years) will end her employment but looks forward to volunteering at St. Martin’s Home. Serving 30 years as receptionist, Joyce Bowersox refers to her time with the Little Sisters as, “nice, so very nice.” Joyce said, “I love the Residents and will have to hug them in my prayers since I will not see them daily.”
