This annual award, first given at St. Martin’s Home in 2003, honors the individual who best exemplifies the spirit of St. Jeanne Jugan while demonstrating the core values of the Little Sisters: Reverence, Family Spirit, Humble Service, Compassion and Stewardship.
After careful consideration, the Little Sisters selected Donna Loeb as the St. Jeanne Jugan Award winner for 2014! An employee at St. Martin’s Home for nine years, Donna works in the Housekeeping/Laundry Department. Donna’s co-workers nominated her for this award which recognizes her exceptional service to St. Martin’s Residents.
During the awards ceremony Keith Karas, Human Resources Director, referenced Donna’s personnel file as “stellar” with perfect attendance! He said, “Donna is a dedicated employee who desires to get her work done quickly and accurately.” The Little Sisters compared her work to that of Jeanne Jugan – working quietly and humbly while seeking no recognition. Donna’s quiet, kind personality is appreciated by the Residents and her co-workers!
Never expecting to be given such an award Donna said, “Working for the Little Sisters is a pleasure because everyone is so friendly and caring.” Donna’s family and St. Martin’s Home staff joined her for the recognition ceremony to celebrate a well-deserved St. Jeanne Jugan winner.
