Residents and Little Sisters appreciate our staff and to let them know it we thought it fitting to begin their special day with a blessing in the chapel. Father Al Giaquinto, SS is always ready with a thoughtful and spontaneous word. And so this time he helped us to see that we are L-U-C-K-Y. Our staff has a Listening heart: They are attentive, capturing and understanding what the Residents say; they are patient. Understanding spirit: An understanding of who and what you are; you are important in the lives of those you touch; you are willing to spend time, to give of yourself. May the Lord give you an understanding heart and spirit. Counsel: Gentle counsel; in the course of conversation people ask for help; you give the needed advice so they can be ready to profit of the day. Important Knowledge: It begins with a knowledge of who you are; the knowledge of your gifts. Words are transforming; it is so important to be aware of the gift you are, gifts you have – the gift of the person entrusted to you. And, he emphasized they need to have an awareness of the gift that is You! You are a gift. To see you. To witness what you do. You are a gift to this community to help carry on the work of Jeanne Jugan. God knows you are here. An afternoon lunch with prizes and service awards completed the day. Little Sisters and Residents at Saint Martin’s are blessed and L-U-C-K-Y to have a great team of committed staff. We thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts!
