When we have a need, we ask Good Saint Joseph to come to our aid! When our benefactors and friends ask “What do the Residents need?” or “How can I help?” we know that Saint Joseph has answered our prayers!
Lourdes and Fatima Cottages have recently been blessed with a much needed “HomeFill Oxygen Filling System” for our Residents in need of oxygen. The concentrator system was donated by our friend and Capital Campaign committee member, Kim David, and her husband, Scott David. An efficient and much less expensive process for those who need oxygen, the new equipment will pay for itself in four months, saving $51,000 a year. Thank you to Kim and Scott for making this happen! We have a running “Wish List” of items to enhance the quality of life for our Residents and to beautify the Home. Please contact Sister Rosario Flor if you are interested in securing a needed item.
We also thank our longtime supporters, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, who recently hosted their annual “Crab Feast” for Residents and Little Sisters. The group came to St. Martin’s Home for the first time in 1960 to serve a noon meal to the Residents. This was the beginning of a 50 year association for which we give continued thanks!
The Friendly Sons brought crabs, crab cakes and soup. Our kitchen staff provided desserts and beverages to add to the feast! Kitty Bowles, Director of Activities, ADC, said the entire Home, with the exception of a few, attended the dinner. The Friendly Sons, along with their family members, jumped in without hesitation — ready and willing to crack open the crabs – trying to keep up with the appetites of the Residents! The meal was immensely enjoyed, and the Residents said they were already looking forward to the feast next year. Kitty said it was “a joy to see the Residents so excited about the event!” With music playing in the background, it was a festive evening!
THANKS TO OUR GENEROUS FRIENDS
